Teach MBBS students the principles and applications of General Microbiology
Involve in:
Practical sessions (e.g., staining, culturing, antibiotic sensitivity testing)
Internal assessments and university examinations
Creation of teaching-learning materials and question papers as per CBME format
Support the functioning of the Microbiology laboratory:
Media preparation, specimen collection protocols, and culture techniques
Interpretation of laboratory test results
Participate in:
Hospital Infection Control Committee (HICC) activities
Monitoring and reporting of hospital-acquired infections and antibiograms
Quality control initiatives
Assist in departmental research projects and interdisciplinary studies.
Learn and contribute to:
Data collection, analysis, and manuscript writing
CME presentations, journal clubs, and workshops
Attend:
Medical education units (MEU), conferences, and faculty development programs (FDPs)
Assist Head of Department in:
Maintaining academic records, student attendance, and teaching logs
Preparing for NMC inspections and accreditation audits
Coordinate:
Journal club sessions, academic quizzes, and awareness programs (e.g., AMR campaigns)
Department-level seminars and guest lectures
Sound knowledge of clinical microbiology and infection prevention practices.
Skilled in lab-based techniques and interpretation of test results.
Strong communication and teaching skills, with comfort in using digital tools (LMS, PPTs, lab software).
Willingness to engage in CBME curriculum development, continuous learning, and student mentoring.
