To lead the academic delivery of Human Physiology, fostering a deep understanding of functional bodily systems among students, while driving the department's research output and adhering to Competency-Based Medical Education (CBME) standards.
Advanced Academic Instruction:
Deliver high-level lectures on complex systems (Neurophysiology, Endocrinology, Cardiovascular, and Renal Physiology).
Supervise Hematology and Amphibian/Mammalian experiments (using simulations where live animals are restricted).
Implement Clinical Physiology sessions, including ECG, Pulmonary Function Tests (PFT), and Electromyography (EMG).
Coordinate Vertical and Horizontal Integration with clinical departments (e.g., correlating Cardiac Physiology with Cardiology).
Postgraduate Training & Research:
Serve as a PG Guide for MD Physiology students (requires 5 years of teaching experience post-MD).
Oversee the departmental research lab and encourage faculty/student research projects.
Ensure the department meets publication quotas for NMC inspections.
Administrative & Regulatory Oversight:
Assist the HOD in internal assessment planning and university exam conduct.
Manage the procurement and maintenance of sophisticated lab equipment (PowerLab, Treadmills, etc.).
Participate in Institutional Ethics Committees or Curriculum Committees.
