We are looking for a skilled and precise Consultant Histopathologist to lead our tissue diagnostics section. The core responsibility involves macroscopically examining (grossing) and microscopically analyzing surgical resections and biopsies to detect malignancies, inflammatory conditions, and infectious diseases. The ideal candidate ensures the highest level of diagnostic accuracy, strictly follows NABL/ISO 15189 compliance protocols, and collaborates closely with oncologists and surgeons to determine patient treatment pathways.
Gross & Microscopic Examination: Perform macroscopic description (grossing) and processing of surgical biopsies and large resection specimens. Examine stained slides under the microscope to provide definitive diagnostic insights.
Oncopathology Staging: Accurately classify tumors, grade malignancies, and evaluate surgical margins according to standard guidelines (e.g., CAP protocols).
Specialized Testing Interpretation: Order and interpret Immunohistochemistry (IHC) markers, special stains, and molecular diagnostic tests to confirm complex or borderline diagnoses.
Cytopathology Reporting: Oversee or perform reporting for Fine Needle Aspiration Cytology (FNAC), exfoliative cytology, and fluid pap smears when required.
Frozen Section Analysis: Perform intraoperative consultations (frozen sections) and give rapid, accurate diagnoses to surgeons during active operating procedures.
Quality Assurance: Direct the quality control of the histopathology lab, including tissue processing, embedding, microtomy, and staining quality. Ensure complete NABL documentation and active participation in EQAS (External Quality Assessment Schemes).
Clinical Consultation: Discuss complex, high-stakes cases directly with referring clinicians, oncologists, or surgeons, and actively participate in Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) tumor boards.

| Diagnostic Accuracy | Deep expertise in oncopathology, pattern recognition, and tumor margin evaluation. |
| Advanced Techniques | High proficiency in interpreting IHC panels and liquid-based cytology (LBC). |
| Manual Dexterity | High precision in handling fine biopsies and performing uniform tissue grossing. |
| Lab Automation | Familiarity with automated tissue processors, microtomes, and Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS). |
Education: MD in Pathology / DNB in Pathology from a recognized medical institution. An additional fellowship in Oncopathology or Surgical Pathology is a strong advantage.
Experience: 2 to 5+ years of dedicated experience in histopathology reporting within a reputed diagnostic network or corporate hospital setting.
